From early beginings in the Hyper Realist movement of the seventies, the work has subsequently moved on to refine a more personal style of imagery and content to includeclassical and renaissance architecture, formal gardens and landscapes. With its frequent allusion to the female nude the work has a warm sensuous feel combined with a tranquil timeless atmosphere. Recent paintings draw on the rocky limestone seascape and the intense light of the coast of Cyprus, often as a background to the figure.
An innovative use of acrylic combines the use of broken colour, dots, stipples and washes with elements derived from earlier study of photographic process and nineteenth century pointiliste colour theory. The resultant work has a vibrant illusory quality which is quite distinctive.
Work in private and public collections world wide.
